🎄 Christmas Trees 🎄

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, where would we be without you? Whether you’re the type to put up your tree just after Halloween, or if you put it up on Christmas Eve, (!!!) when December dawns, most of us have to come to terms with having a let’s say, larger than house plant size but smaller than a pet giraffe, spikey, green shrub, decorated in glitter, living sometimes pretty precariously somewhere in our homes. From window ledges and staircases to table tops and corners of rooms, lots of us will have a tree for Christmas.

After a couple of treeless years, this year I knew I wanted to get back into it. So, I stepped out, mid November on a quest for new decorations. I needed everything. From the tree itself, to lights, tinsel and all of the baubles! Some of my favorite decorations this year have to include:

Sausage Dogs

Hedgehog and Reindeer

Snowman and Owl

Decorations from Warsaw

Donut Sloth and Grippy Sloth

Yes, I have a sloth on the top of my Christmas tree. I also have a spare branch for a gingerbread man decoration that my mum will be bringing for my tree, when she and my dad visit me in London this Christmas!

I also impulse purchased some tinsel. Yes. I know. The Marmite of Christmas Tree fans everywhere. But when it’s done right, and that is the most important thing, I think it can look so cosy. I’ve always loved a good piece of tinsel. Since I was little and my mum hated it, I loved it. Especially in red. No, I don’t put it around mirrors or anywhere and my baby tree this year could only take one piece, so I wrapped the rest that I bought around the base of the tree.

The finished product…

Not ready for needles lodged in my wooden floors into June, artificial was the way for me. That, and some Christmas tree wax melts in my burner and I’m good to go. Do you have a Christmas tree this year? When do you put your decorations up?

    1. I’m happy you like my little tree! I wanted it to make me proud 😂 it’s so nice to collect decs from places because you get to see how the traditional things in each country are similar or how they vary slightly. Thank you for reading ♥️

  2. I’ve got a Yule Tree up, which is pretty much the same thing, but I like more traditional, pagan ornaments on my tree. Next year I really want to get some cute little Tomten dolls to plop in between the branches! Maybe even a Yule Goat topper! 🙂

  3. Your tree is fab Ellen. The most we have this year is a ponsettia with some battery powered lights. I would show you but I don’t now how to upload it! And the batteries are getting weak. If I put tinsel on it I think the leaves will drop off. Oh man!

  4. Aw, I love your little tree, especially the adorable grippy sloth decoration! 💗 We usually decorate our tree 12 days before Chriatmas (or the closest Saturday to that). I hope you have a lovely Christmas.
